| Penny Avann |
 |
SAMS has been dear to Penny’s heart since her days as a Pathfinder when David Pytches was her curate and received his call to South America. Sixteen years later she joined SAMS as Communications and Youth Secretary, which brought her into contact with many wonderful Christians here and in South America. Those eight years were faith-stretching and life-changing. She was invited back in 1994 to serve as a Trustee and her special interest has been in communication and in enabling the UK Church to catch something of the faith and vibrancy of the Church in Iberia and South America.
Penny is an Honorary Canon of Rochester Cathedral and serves in a parish in that diocese.

| Peter Hyatt |
 |
Peter became a Christian through his local church in the late 1970’s whilst working for a global accounting firm. In 1983 he joined the SAMS Finance Committee and General Council. Following leave of absence from the committee in the early 1990’s, he resumed his role and was invited by the then SAMS General Secretary David Evans to visit Chile in 1998. Seeing the inspiring work of the Anglican Church there led directly to his taking on the Honorary Treasurer’s role in 2000.
Peter retired from professional practice in early 2007 and hopes that this may give him more time to study some theology, enjoy his two granddaughters, visit South America again and to complete some long-distance cycling epics with his wife, Jenny. |

| John Taylor |
 |
God graciously revealed himself to John in 1981 about the time he married Mandy, (current General Council member and past Trustee). He has been a SAMS supporter for around 20 years. He worked in London as an Actuary and Financial Adviser and was also involved in running, taking over and selling small financial services businesses. He served in various capacities in a large village church.
John has recently left full-time employment and works as a consultant in the finance industry. The children have more or less left home and so he and Mandy moved to Brighton in order to experience life in a different way. |
