Mario & Paula have been members of the Church of The Good Shepherd in the Villa Devoto area of Buenos Aires for many years. Mario is now its Assistant Pastor, having been ordained deacon in December 2006. He is particularly active in the work with young people, which includes weekly evangelistic and social outreach to a poor neighbourhood. He leads the church’s praise and worship team and helps with the house groups and Christian Education. |

| Apeleo, Abelino & Paty serving in Chile |
 |
An assistant bishop in the Diocese of Chile, Abelino serves his own people, the Mapuches, in the south of the country. He oversees a work whose origins go back to the late 1890s in a predominantly rural area now experiencing the challenges of 21st century life. Patty works at the William Wilson School in Chol Chol, an important educational institution named after a pioneer SAMS missionary in the area. |

| Bascuñán, Federico & Rosa serving in Bolivia |

Though born in Chile and a former Communist, ‘Lico’ now pastors the churches of ‘Christ the Light of the World’ and ‘Christ the Bread of Life’ in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz. One of the key ministries in which he and Rosa (also Chilean) are involved is to couples and families in a city where 70% of marriages end within two years. |

| Irene, Ronald & Nicky serving in Bolivia |

Night-club bouncer Ronny got a shock when he discovered that his girlfriend’s father was the Anglican bishop! Now Ronny, from a troubled background, has seen his life transformed as God worked through Nicky and her father Greg Venables. In 2006 he became pastor of Cristo el Salvador church in La Paz and has seen significant growth there. He and Nicky have three children. |

| Lenton, Andy & Evangelina serving in Argentina |

Andy is a descendant of English immigrants who yet works hard to transform churches built for such people into genuine Argentine congregations. He, Evangelina and their two children served for 11 years in the city of Rosario before moving back to Buenos Aires in 2007 to pastor the church where Andy’s uncle began the Spanish work in the 1960s. |

| Mesco, Alejandro & Doris serving in Peru |

After many years working in the city of Arequipa, including several as Regional Director, Alejandro has become a missionary to the people of the Colca Canyon high in the Andes. These folk have been on his heart for some time and he now serves at the new San Felipe mission there. This is an exciting venture in which Alejandro has been joined by Rubén Mancilla from the church of Jesús el Salvador in Lima. Doris and the children continue to live in Arequipa. |

| Montoya, Julio & Norma serving in Peru |
 |
Julio and Norma are both ordained and serve at the church of La Santísima Trinidad in Lima as well as in church plants in neighbouring ‘young towns’ of poor people who’ve moved to the capital in search of a better life. This is a holistic ministry which is demanding and sacrificial as they proclaim God’s love and salvation in word and action. Their daughter Isabel and son-in-law Anderson also play major roles. |

| Morrison, Danny & Ary serving in Chile |

Danny is the great-grandson of SAMS pioneer missionary William Wilson and has trained in both Chile and the UK for his ministry which is based at the Church of La Resurrección in Gómez Carreño, on the hills outside the city of Viña del Mar. He and Ary are SAMS’ newest Latin Partners and have three children. |

| Nascimento, Vera serving in Brazil |

Vera studied in Recife and at St John’s College, Nottingham, as a SAMS Study Partner and is now pastor of Emanuel Church in Olinda, not far from Recife. The ministry there includes a Friday afternoon ‘Service of Hope’ for homeless people, alcoholics and drug addicts. |

| Pereira, René & Marina serving in Northern Argentina |

These long-serving Latin Partners, originally from Bolivia, have made the remote town of Ingeniero Juárez their home since 1995. René has dedicated himself to work with young indigenous people of the Chaco villages and to training leaders for the churches. Marina is Deputy Head of an indigenous school. They have two children. |

| Soria, Gonzalo & Leticia serving in Uruguay |

Gonzalo has two parishes 200 miles apart – Malvín in the capital, Montevideo, and Fray Bentos near the western border with Argentina. He is also Director of Human Formation in the Diocese of Uruguay, giving him responsibility for its social projects. He and Leticia have two young daughters. |

Josias is the younger brother of Siméa Meldrum. He is Youth Pastor of the church of Espirito Santo in Recife, in a continent where ‘youth’ covers a very broad spectrum. Danielle, whom he married in May 2007, helps with a teenagers group, and Josias is encouraged to see a growing Sunday afternoon congregation. | Vergara, Hugo & Techi serving in Northern Argentina |

Hugo began his ministry in the north of Argentina in the early 1980s as a medical doctor in the Chaco. He later joined the diocese, was ordained and planted the Church of Grace in Tucumán, now pastored by Eliseo Ortiz. He and Techi, who have two grown-up children, now live in Salta from where Hugo spends much time visiting both urban and rural churches in his capacity as archdeacon. |

Juan & Carol are Chilean mission partners who’ve dedicated many years to building up God’s work in Seville. They serve at the church of San Basilio and Carol also coordinates the Urban Evangelical Mission, an interdenominational ministry to immigrants and other needy folk. |

Martín is a SAMS Study Partner who worships at the church of Cristo el Salvador in La Paz, Bolivia, which is pastored by Ronald Irene. He is responsible for the church’s worship and for his studies uses the distance-learning materials produced by SEUT www.centroseut.org. He and Carla have three children. |
