Get Planning
If you’ve been accepted as a Short Term Volunteer, you are responsible for booking your flights, getting sufficient travel and health insurance, visas etc. Here’s a few links which should get you started. But don’t hesitate to contact the Youth and Volunteer Coordinator if you have any questions.
Flights
It’s worth shopping
around – any travel agent will help or try a few websites.
We have used the
following companies and found them competitive and helpful:
- Journey Latin America
020 8747 3108
sales@journeylatinamerica.co.uk - Key Travel
0845 122 0102
www.keytravel.co.uk
purple@keytravel.co.uk
Insurance
Again it’s worth shopping around – but make sure that you get adequate medical and travel insurance that will cover every eventuality and the entirety of your placement. We usually use:
Masterpolicy
0870 44 22 200
Visas
Generally speaking British citizens can enter South America countries as Tourists for 30 -90 days without the need for a Visa. But rules are liable to change and it’s best to get up to date information from the relevant Embassy and their consulate department.
